Hammelburg has something for everyone:

Bicycle paths lead right up to our door and invite you to explore the Franken countryside. Of course, you can also discover the local area on a peaceful walking tour visiting old castles or romantic vineyards. As a special treat, a wine-tasting can also be scheduled….after all, Hammelburg is Franken’s oldest wine-producing city.

If water is your element, you can canoe on the Saale River or fish along its shores. Eel, pike and carp are just waiting for you to catch them!

Along with other activities, you can play tennis, try your hand at archery or see Hammelburg from the air in a glider.

For an exciting finale to your sport activities, take a horse-drawn carriage ride or, for larger groups, a covered wagon tour around the Hammelburg countryside.

For our motorized guests, a trip to the neighboring Rhön valley or Bad Kissingen offers a pleasant change of pace. Both can be reached in less than 30 minutes.

For technical fans, a visit to the giant satellite dishes not far from the highway is a must. Even if we’ve never had contact with aliens, it isn’t hard to believe that it could happen here!

One thing is certain----if little green men come to Hammelburg, they will certainly enjoy themselves!
